The Kubus team really enjoyed attending the NetUK 2026 event, where network providers, technology partners, and industry peers came together to share ideas, discuss emerging technologies, and explore the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of connectivity.
One of the standout sessions of the day was Geoff Bennett’s talk on Data Centres in Space. It offered a fascinating look at how future infrastructure could evolve and challenged the audience to think differently about the way we design and deliver digital services.
As expected, artificial intelligence was another major talking point throughout the event. Conversations centred around the opportunities AI presents to help organisations deliver more with less, improve efficiency, and unlock new possibilities. At the same time, there was an equally important discussion around the challenges it creates – from increased demands on networks and infrastructure to supply chain considerations and ensuring the right foundations are in place to support long-term growth.
The team found it interesting to hear the different perspectives from across the community. Some organisations are embracing AI at pace, while others are taking a more measured approach, carefully balancing innovation with governance, resilience, and security. What everyone agreed on, however, was that strong, scalable networks will play a critical role in supporting whatever comes next.
It was a great opportunity to catch up with familiar faces, meet new people, exchange tech thoughts, and learn from the experiences of others.
We left the event with plenty of food for thought. AI may be dominating the headlines, but the conversations at NetUK highlighted that successful innovation isn’t just about adopting the latest technology – it’s about building the right relationships and creating resilient infrastructure.
